OK, now I'm gonna preface this by saying the utterly horrific shooting of late was a terrible tragedy and I firmly believe we need more and better laws concerning guns, who gets them, and how we use them. That said, Democrats can assign a committee to work on this or the Prez can appoint a "Czar" (hate that term) to oversee a change in the gun society of nut jobs in the hinterlands of the US.
But I do NOT WANT the NEXT FOUR YEARS dedicated to changing gun laws in this country. I want action on:
Employment
Wages & Salaries (addressing income inequity)
Healthcare
and several other pressing issues facing the USA. Yes, GUN CONTROL and GUN REGULATION is one of them, but FOR GOD'S SAKE DON'T LET THE ENTIRE DEMOCRATIC PARTY AND THIS PRESIDENT SIT ON THE GUN CONTROL ISSUE UNTIL IT LAYS AN EGG IN 3.8 YEARS.
And they'll 'effin do it too. They WON'T do anything else except ALLOW THEMSELVES to become embroiled in the highly emotional and complicated issue of gun control in the USA. They'll love to make it look like they are furiously working to save us from the gun nuts (when they have not clue what to really do).
They won't fight the hard fights, they'll let Republicans issue demands and then roll over like they have during the first 4 years of the Obama presidency and say they "don't have the support" for fighting back or some other nonsense.
By all means do something to make a dent on the gun nut homicidal crazies. But DON'T fall into the trap and let this be the do-all end-all of the next 4 years like the ridiculously slow HCR issue became (and then delivered a watered down squat at the end).
C'mon Democrats. There's lots of you up there in DC. You can do more than one thing at a time. Unless, of course, YOU DON'T WANT TO.
And as for people who will demand I remove or HR my comments of due criticism toward Pres. Obama (who I voted for), I'll remind you that your behavior is reflected in the worst of the worst at Foxnationdotcom and conservative posters in general. It's fine to not like my opinion, but as far as I can tell it is well within the guidelines of this community.
